Many TBLS discipuli hang out after school with their friends, but most only go to one of the delis nearby, while there are plenty of underrated venues that are only a short walk away. After surveying and asking discipuli where they enjoy going after school, this collection of restaurants was made.
One such place is the Win Son bakery on Montrose and Graham avenue. Only a five minute walk away from the school, this Taiwanese-American bakery serves a variety of pastries and coffee. The price range for how much one person spends there varies, but mainly stays under $15.
Located on Manhattan avenue and Devoe street, Fortunato brothers bakery is a seven minute walk from TBLS. Its menu features éclairs, cream puffs, cannoli, and more! The prices are fairly inexpensive, most pastries are under 5 dollars, and cakes by the slice being slightly more expensive. I recommend their eclair, which is $2.
As you walk from TBLS to Grand street station, you will pass by Grand Morelos, a Mexican restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Their soft tacos are $5, except for Tuesdays, when they're $2, and their other sandwiches and wraps are under $15. Grand Morelos is a three minute walk away from the school.
And lastly, Brooklyn ball factory is a modern Japanese café on Montrose avenue. The restaurant has charming outdoor seating, as well as a rooftop area. Their teas are priced around $5 while their Bento boxes and onigiri sets are under $15. Brooklyn ball factory’s $4 Yuzu ginger and honey mint tea is packed with flavor and perfect for a sunny day.
Williamsburg has an abundance of cafes, restaurants, and bakeries featuring a diversity of food and drink items that would be a shame to miss. If your favorite spot isn't on this list, let us know through this survey!
