Puss in boots: The Last Wish
Released on December 21, 2022, 11 years after the original film, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish shatters all expectations. The film follows the titular Puss in Boots, an adventure loving orange-tabby cat after he finds out he already spent 8 of his 9 lives. And so he sets out on an epic adventure to find “The Last Wish” to restore his lives. This movie is nothing short of spectacular. The animation draws huge inspiration from Spider-man: Into the spiderverse’s comic book style. The art direction is simply stunning as it flows seamlessly between a 3d to a 2d inspired look. The story itself is this introspective look into puss. Throughout the film he is constantly shown to be arrogant and selfish but as the movie goes on he’s forced to take a deeper look into himself. And all of this is accentuated by the movie's main antagonist who is probably one of the coolest villains in animation ever.

Avatar: The way of water Released on December 16, 2022 having big shoes to fill. The original Avatar was a pop culture phenomenon, grossing over $2,992,917,914 dollars in the box office, the highest grossing film in history. It was acclaimed largely for its stunning and groundbreaking effects and cgi, most of which still holds up today. Luckily, Avatar:The way of water does not disappoint. Watching this film in theaters is an experience unlike any other. In this day and age where visual effects are the best they have ever been this film still manages to impress. The plot on the other is fairly average but still is a good time. It follows Jake Sully, the main character, starting a family on the solar moon Pandora, however his peace is threatened and so he must team up with the na’vi to protect his loved ones. It also has a strong message about protecting our oceans.
